Niels became after his corporate career in 2012 a serial entrepreneur and is serving as a Managing Partner at Expandeers (SouthEast Asia) PLT, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia an International Business Development & Sales Specialist organisation for SMEs with partners in over 40 countries and headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.  Niels is focussing on cross border trading of luxury food items and luxury goods as well as technology. He is also the Co-founder and CEO of Kinslager (M) Sdn. Bhd., a design and bespoke tailoring specialist. Its clients include multinational companies as well as C-Level individuals and celebrities. Niels is actively coaching and supporting young entrepreneurs and corporate managers to reach their fullest potential in life and business. Niels developed a strong passion to change the future of our children in elevating the education system to equip our children for an ever faster changing world. To support his conviction Niels co-founded Acton Academy Desa Parkcity and is blogging about the topic. Niels has also deep interest in Industry 4.0 related industries as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain technologies as well as in Automotive, Health Care and Digital Retail. Niels has hands on experience in ICOs and VCs Investors Road Shows and preparations as well as M&A. 

 

In his corporate life Niels served from January 2008 till December 2012 as the CFO of the Valiram Group, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is the largest independent luxury retailer in South-East Asia. Before that, he served as the Vice President Finance & Controlling and Administration (CFO) of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia (now Mercedes-Benz Malaysia). Niels joined DaimlerChrysler AG (now Daimler AG) headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2001, where he worked as Senior Manager Business Development & Strategy for Digital Sales and Telematics. He was responsible for driving the strategic development in this field as well as leading respective merger and acquisition (M&A) activities world wide. 

 

Niels graduated with a Masters Degree equivalent in Business Administration from the University of Cologne, Germany, followed by an Entrepreneurship Development Program from Sloan School of Management (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Later, he extended his executive education with various courses at the DaimlerChrysler Corporate Academy e.g. the Advanced Executive Program at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. During his early age, he served in the German Military Service, where he retired as a Second Lieutenant. 

 

Since 2013 Niels is a Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur DiRaja and served on the Board as Director Vocational Service, Honorary Secretary and Director Public Relations.

 

Niels was born and raised near Hannover, Germany. He studied and lived for 10 years in Cologne, Germany before moving to Stuttgart, Germany where he lived and worked for 4 years before being appointed CFO for Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia. Niels is married to his Malaysian wife Claire, they have 5 children and reside in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
